Meet the Team

Hello, I am Missy Deer, and I am the receptionist at Park West Church. My goal is to make everyone who calls or enters the building feel welcome and loved. I truly enjoy my job, as I get to meet and greet the wonderful Park West family. I also assist Pastor Paul Harris in the Benevolence department, especially in the operation of the food pantry. My heart's desire is to help the needy, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

I have been married for 24 wonderful years to the love of my life, Steve. And we have two grown sons, Joshua and Nathan. Steve and I work together in the greeter ministry here at Park West Church, as well as serving on the prayer team and teaching elective classes. Steve also ministers as part of our outreach program every Sunday morning and third Thursday to a dear group of people at an apartment building for elderly and disabled individuals.

When I am not at work, I enjoy cooking for my family and friends, sewing, crochet, and reading. I am even writing a cookbook, with the help of my family, in honor of my amazing great-grandmother. Outdoors, I enjoy gardening and hiking. My favorite date with my sweetheart is a day in the Smoky Mountains, sitting beside the river in camp chairs with a grill full of chicken and a bag full of good books and crochet projects. My goal in life is to exhibit the irresistible love of the Father to everyone I meet, and to point them to a relationship with Him.
