Young At Heart

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah40:30-31 (NIV)

Young At Heart, a very special ministry of Park West Church, consists primarily of senior adults, 50 and over, married and unmarried, as well as members with deceased spouses. The purpose of Young At Heart is to encourage the believer in prayer and study of God's Word, to equip them for service. They also emphasize the value of being spiritual leaders of the family, even after the children have moved away from home.

Establishment of a prayer chain has brought forth testimonies weekly and even daily, of God's blessings and healings in many lives. The Young At Heart have adopted an outreach ministry of prayer and financial support of missions regularly.

This ministry meets once monthly for dinner and fellowship with one another. Their meetings take place at the church, various restaurants and homes. Annual trips are on the agenda, as well as monthly ladies luncheon for friendship and ministry.

Monthly Fellowships

Friday, September 21st - Covered Dish Dinner at The Cove Park on Northshore Drive. Bring your favorite dish and a lawn chair. This will be for 4:00 to 9:00pm. Please join us for a time of fun, food and Christian fellowship.

Saturday, October 20th - We will be traveling to Cumberland County State Park. We'll drive through the park to see the fall colors and eat at a restaurant there. (This is a buffet, and the food is great.) We'll also be going to Simonton's Cheese and Gift Shop in Crossville. We have the church van reserved and it will leave the church at 10:00am. If you need a ride please call Pam at 851-9503.

Friday, November 2nd - We will have our annual Thanksgiving Dinner in the church café. This will be catered, at a cost of $12/person. Starting time is 6:30pm.

Friday, December 7th - We will have our annual Christmas Get-together in the church café at 6:30pm. Our dinner will be finger foods, desserts and drinks. For entertainment there will be games and door prizes!
