One of the most important activities or events that we could do here at Fusion is to serve our community, nation and world. We accomplish this through our "SHARE" activities. Our goal is to SHARE the love of Christ with our community. Here are a few ways that we do this.
- Angelic Ministries - This faith-based organization serves the downtown community of Knoxville. They feed the hungry, clothe the naked and even help redeem the downtrodden. They are a beautiful community that is successfully changing the landscape of downtown.
- KARM - KARM is a well known ministry to the homeless in Knoxville. They not only feed the homeless but also house them and share the love of Christ with them through Bible studies and one-on-one time.
- Heritage Assisted Living - Although Heritage is not at all faith-based, they have been extremely welcoming of our students. They have 12-20 residences, all of which are elderly, and some of which have no family in the area. If you are looking for a place to really make a difference, please consider helping serve at Heritage. It is as easy as having a conversation.
- Prom of the Stars - This is an event that is held annually downtown for the mentally challenged and was started by Farragut Christian Church. It is an opportunity for these students and adults to come and have fun. It is a formal event and a blessing to everyone that participates.
- Sevierville Home for Children - This home for children is one of the most impressive for many reasons. While they are extremely loving and encouraging to the children that live here, they also offer a great campus that challenges the children both physically and emotionally.
- Mission Charlotte - In July of '08 we took the students on a mission trip to Charlotte, NC. We slept in tents in the rain and heat (I used the word "sleep" loosely), we worked at a campground and local widow's house and we served food to the homeless. We teamed up with "The Cinder Project" to make this happen (The Cinder Project is a Charlotte, NC ministry for students. They have a skate park and are looking to expand into music and other arts).
- Mission DC - In March of '09 the students forfeited their Spring Break beach trip to go on a mission trip to Washington, DC to serve. We were extremely blessed by a local church (Sunset Hill Baptist) who allowed us to stay in their facility during the week. We then were able to serve the local Goodwill and the Bill Wilson ministry, Kid Konnection.
- World Outreach - The middle school has taken part in two mission trips. The first was July '08 in Juarez, Mexico and the second was July '09 in Guatemala. Both were organized and led by Global Infusion which is a great missions organization if you so desire to serve in that capacity. Fusion also supports two children around the world, Sudarat from Thailand and Virsot from Cambodia.
